Providers, Subscriptions and Nodes Explained for Beginners
Newcomers drown in jargon: providers (often called “airports”), subscriptions, nodes. The relationship is simple: a provider sells access to proxy servers, the subscription URL is the machine-readable list of those servers, and your Clash client reads that list and connects.
How the three fit together
- Register with a provider and buy a plan — you receive a subscription URL
- Paste that URL into Clash Verge Rev or FlClash
- The client pulls the full node list; pick one and you are online
Why the subscription URL matters
The URL is effectively your account credential — anyone holding it can burn your traffic, so never post it publicly. When the provider rotates servers, one subscription update syncs everything; no manual editing.
