Clash Verge Rev on macOS: Install Guide and Gotchas
Mac users hit two snags with Clash Verge Rev: downloading the wrong chip build, and macOS security blocking the first launch. Both are quick to fix.
Pick the right build
Macs from 2020 onward are mostly Apple Silicon (M-series) — take the aarch64 dmg; older Intel Macs need the x64 dmg. Check Apple menu → About This Mac if unsure.
Install and first launch
- Open the dmg and drag the app into Applications
- If macOS says the developer cannot be verified, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway
- Import your subscription URL and pick a node
- Enable System Proxy — or TUN mode if you want everything captured (approve the network extension when asked)
Common issues
- “App is damaged”: run xattr -cr /Applications/Clash\ Verge.app in Terminal and reopen
- TUN will not start: make sure the network extension was allowed in the system dialog
- Settings lost after upgrade: rare — just re-import the subscription
